In a nutshell, here are some information about me:

I got a Laurea degree with honors
in Computer Science (Scienze
dell'Informazione) in 1998 from Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia,
Italy. My advisor was prof. Giuseppe F.
Italiano. I wrote my very first paper (Maintaining Dynamic
Graph Properties Deterministically) based on my
Master's thesis.

From 1998 to 2001 I worked as a computer engineer for the INFN, the Italian National Institute for
Nuclear Physics research. I was a member of the BaBar
collaboration.

From 2000 to 2003 I was a PhD student
at the Dipartimento di Informatica,
Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia. My
advisor was prof. Simonetta Balsamo.

I got a PhD (Dottorato di
Ricerca) in Computer Science in 2004 from the Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia,
Italy. My dissertation was on Simulation-Based Performance Modeling of UML Software
Architectures,

From 2003 to 2005 I was a post-doc researcher at the
Dipartimento di Informatica,
Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia,
Italy. My work was supported by the Italian FIRB Project PERF: Performance
Evaluation of Complex Systems: Techniques, Methodologies and
Tools. My research interests included: distributed systems,
performance evaluation, parallel and distributed simulation.

From 2005 to 2009 I was back with INFN Padova, Italy. From 2005 to
2006 I worked on the European Union EGEE project.
From 2006 to 2008 I worked on the OMII-Europe
Project, where I coordinated the JRA1/Job Submission and Monitoring
task.
From 2008 to 2009 I worked on the EGEE-3 Project;
I contributed to the development of the CREAM computing element for the gLite middleware.

Since november 2009 I am assistant professor (ricercatore universitario) at the Department of
Computer Science, University of Bologna, Italy. My
research activity in in the area of performance evaluation of
complex systems and cloud computing.
